CNC Router is a multi-functional machine that is controlled by the computer system. It is mainly focused on 3D processing. It can cut metal and non-metal by cutting, drilling, trimming, and other processing. It can be applied for making indoor and outdoor decoration, signage boards, parts of products, jigs, etc. CNC router supports 3D files, which can cut a notch and another 3D shape accurately. The automatic tool change (ATC) function can continue trimming after engraving without resetting, which can decrease cumulative error.

Laser cutting uses a laser beam to burn the material to cut. It can adjust the speed and power for different kinds of material and thickness, while CNC cutting adjusts by changing the knife. Laser can cut out a sharp corner, but CNC cutting will have a rounded corner, due to the limit of the knife. Laser cutting is fast, but not all materials can match, therefore CNC cutting can become a complement. Both have an accuracy of 0.05mm, and can be used for precise cutting.

Water-jet uses high-pressure water to cut metal and non-metal. Water-jet cutting will cause burrs, and the cutting face is not perpendicular. Water-jet is faster than CNC cutting and better for mass production. But it has a cutting aperture of 0.8 to 1.2mm, which has larger tolerances and is not suitable for precise processing.
